OXFORD — Doris J. Mitchell, 76, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Clear Creek M.B. Church with the Rev. Darrin Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Harrisonville M.B. Church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, she was a retired dietician from the University of Mississippi and member of Harrisonville M.B. Church, where she served on the Mother Board, Missionary Society and Kitchen Committee. She was also a foster grandparent.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Corey Mitchell.

She is survived by her husband, Leland “Dimp” Mitchell of Oxford; daughter, Christi Mitchell-Bland of Oxford; two sons, Ronnie King and Preston King, both of South Bend, Indiana; two sisters, Barbara Cole and Linda Ritchie, both of South Bend, Indiana; brother, Alford King of South Bend, Indiana; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
