MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Kenneth Esco Carothers, 72, formerly of Water Valley, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sanders Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Sidney Towns officiating. Burial will be in New Providence M.B. Church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Homes and 6-8 p.m. at the church. Hodges Funeral Homes of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

A retired mechanic with Thermo King and Valley-Fresh, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Carothers.

He is survived by his daughter, Felecia Carothers of Memphis; one granddaughter; and sister, Glennie Pearson of Taylor.
