OXFORD — Stephen “Steve” Lee Cox, 69, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Assembly of God Church in Water Valley with Bro. R.W. Moffett, Bro. Carl McClain and Bro. Keith Burney officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Yalobusha County. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon until service time at the church. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Water Valley, he served in the United States Army as a helicopter crew chief during the Vietnam War and later worked as a machinist for Borg-Warner. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Water Valley. In spite of dialysis, stroke and amputation, he was a faithful follower of Christ even to death. He patiently waited on the Lord, never complaining.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece and sister-in-law.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Sue Cox Jackson of Oakland, Linda Cox Smith of Tanner, Alabama and Sarah Cox Pullen of Coffeeville; brother, J.C. Cox of Water Valley; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
