This fall, Oxford Intermediate School students Emery Kate Schneider and Sarah Grace Moore auditioned with 400 other Mississippi school students to participate in a statewide elementary student honor choir.

On April 2, their hard work paid off as they performed in the Mississippi All-State Elementary Choir, the Mississippi Music Educators Association honor choir made up of 175 other students out of the 400 who originally auditioned for the honor choir this fall.

During their honor choir experience, both Schneider and Moore rehearsed with a guest conductor for two days and presented an April concert in Hattiesburg.

“Both girls practiced ahead of time to learn their music and did a great job representing Oxford Intermediate School at the event,” said Carol Trott, OIS choral director.
