Maureen McNally

Maureen McNally, 69, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford, after a 12-year fight with breast cancer. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Brooksville, Maine, she was an unapologetic animal rights champion, artist, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. A hairdresser by trade, she retired to Holly Springs in 2009 with her husband of 45 years, James Peter McNally, to help raise her sole granddaughter. She was a deeply empathetic person known for her kindness and her love of beauty.

She is survived by her husband, James Peter McNally; daughter, Shannon Maureen McNally; son, Sean James McNally; brother, Scott Cameron Schnirring; sister, Faith Naomi Schnirring Barry; one granddaughter, many lifelong friends and her beloved dogs.
