Ruby Greer

Ruby Greer, 74, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at her residence in Como. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Free Springs C.M.E. Church in Como. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with family hour from 5-6 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, she was a retired bus driver for the Institute of Community Services Head Start.

She is survived by three daughters, Willie Mae Greer and Delinda Greer, both of Harmontown, and Cynthia Greer of Memphis; six other children she called her own, Christine Russell of Chicago, Illinois, James Greer of Como, Alice Cole of Tupelo, Wallace Johnson of Memphis, Walter Johnson of Olive Branch and Vivian Stephens of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Charles Herod of Memphis; and four grandchildren.
