Oxford man accused of burglary

of commercial buildings, cars

The Oxford Police Department arrested an Oxford man Tuesday on several counts of burglary.

Charged was Kendrick Keller, 40, with seven counts of burglary to a commercial building and of cars. The alleged victim identified Keller after surveillance footage was recovered from the burglary scene.

Keller was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $25,000 bond.

A listing of local burglaries supplied by law enforcement agencies to warn residents to take extra security precautions:

— The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department reported one residential burglary on County Road 303.

Officers investigated eight wrecks, issued 41 tickets and made five arrests on the following charges:

— Careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI

— Careless driving, driving while license suspended and DUI

— Running a stop sign and DUI

— Possession of narcotics

Officers investigated three wrecks and the following reports:

— Two vandalism complaints

Sheriff’s Department

Deputies investigated three wrecks and made two arrests on the following charges:

— Contempt of court

— DUI and no driver’s license

Deputies investigated the following reports:

— Three alarms

— Animal complaint

— Two malicious mischief complaints

— Three service calls

— Two suspicious activities

— Four welfare checks

— Trespassing

— Civil matter

— Seven informational reports

— Two road obstructions

Oxford Fire Department

Firefighters responded to the following calls:

— Smoke detector malfunction at 10:09 p.m. at Brown Hall on campus; no fire

— An alarm at 11:25 p.m. at PIKE house on campus; false alarm

— Fire alarm at 4:55 p.m. at the SAE house on campus; nothing found
