Officers investigated two wrecks and made six arrests on the following charges:

— Possession of drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness, minor in possession and possession of a fake ID

— Two for public drunkenness

— Public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia

— Public drunkenness, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest

— Disorderly conduct, possession of a fake ID and smoking on campus violation

Officers investigated the following reports:

— Ambulance assist

Sheriff’s Department

Deputies investigated one wreck and made three arrests on the following charges:

— Sale of a controlled substance

— Two writs to take into custody

— Grand theft

— Two harassment complaints

— Juvenile complaint

— Six service calls

— Two suspicious activities

— Two welfare checks

— Two transports

— Trespassing

— Two civil matters

— Three follow-up reports 

Oxford Fire Department

Firefighters responded to the following calls:

— Duct detector malfunction at 8:29 a.m. at the University Tennis Facility; no fire

— Smell of wires burning reported at 12:07 p.m. at the YMCA; exercise bike shorted out

— Smoke detector malfunction at 12:49 p.m. at the Student Union on campus; no fire

— Cutting sheet rock activated a smoke detector at 1:21 p.m. at 404 Cherokee Drive; no fire

— Steam activated a smoke detector at 4:17 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi; no fire

Lafayette County Fire

Firefighters responded to a car fire at 6:24 p.m. on Highway 6 and extinguished the blaze.
