Ramona Knower Davis

BATESVILLE — Ramona “Mona” Knower Davis, 80, died Aug. 26, 2015, at her home in Batesville.

The family will have a memorial service Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Batesville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Ed Temple will officiate. Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 6, 1935, to the late Franklin Haywood Knower and Ramona Cowgill Knower in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During her lifetime she worked for the state of Ohio and Highlights for Children in Columbus, Ohio. She eventually retired from Ohio State University Ticket Office after 25 years. She was a lifetime member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Ohio State. She was a member of The United Methodist Church of Upper Arlington, Ohio, for 40 years. She was a member of Batesville Women’s Club and Garden Club, Explorers Bible Study and volunteered for the church and Merea Ministry. Her favorite pastime was cheering on her Buckeyes from Ohio State.

She is survived by three daughters; Diane A. Barrentine (Jarrod) of Coila, Debbie D. Fillhart (Mike) of Hernando, Dee Dee A. Fife (John) of Tucson, Arizona, one son; Richard A. “Rick” Davis of Batesville, one brother; Franklin H. Knower, Jr. of Tappan, New York; three nephews; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Mandy.
