No more tuneups for Ole Miss.

The 15th-ranked Rebels have enjoyed two stress-free Saturdays in a row, outscoring Tennessee-Martin and Fresno State a combined 149-24. But the schedule gets beefy in a hurry with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to take on No. 2 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium this Saturday (8:15 p.m., ESPN).

Can the Rebels (2-0) take anything away from their production in a pair of blowouts against vastly inferior opponents or will running into Nick Saban’s laundry list of former five-star recruits be like starting all over?

“I think they’re a confident football team right now that believes we can win,” Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said at his weekly press conference Monday at the Manning Center. “I believe we can win. I also know you can lose these games because you’re playing really good teams.

“Are we really ready? I don’t know, but I know that we can go and compete and our kids are confident right now.”
