OXFORD — Sandra Alred Collier, 68, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015. A visitation with the family will be held at Oxford-University United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, followed immediately by a memorial service at 3 p.m., also at the church. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Plantersville, she attended Plantersville Elementary and Nettleton High School before marrying the love of her life, Charles “Butch” Collier, and settling in Oxford in 1973. For 25 years, she worked at her husband’s side in the family business, Foster Beverage. After retiring from the business, she devoted her time to another love of hers — children, as a teacher for Mother’s Morning Out and Discovery Day School at Oxford University United Methodist church. She cherished her time with her little ones, who likewise adored her, until her illness prevented her from continuing to teach.

She was a faithfully devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who was known for her energetic humor, friendly and welcoming nature, and joyful spirit. Sandra never met a stranger, and no one could resist a smile and a laugh in her presence. She was also a die-hard Ole Miss Rebel fan who loved tailgating with her family and Grove buddies. Her greatest joy in life was her family to whom she dedicated her heart and soul.
