Ole Miss has once again landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Fresh off a 43-37 win over then-No. 2 Alabama on Saturday, the national publication chose senior safety Trae Elston as its cover art for its upcoming issue, which is dated Sept. 28. The win moved the Rebels (3-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) up 12 spots to a tie for third in this week’s AP poll while Elston, one of Ole Miss’ top defensive playmakers early on, picked off his team-best third pass in the victory.

The Rebels also made the cover along with Mississippi State in October 2014 after both teams knocked off top-10 teams on the first weekend of the month. Ole Miss’ was the first of two straight wins over Alabama while the Bulldogs topped Texas A&M.

The magazine’s story on Ole Miss, written by Andy Staples as part of SI’s Campus Rush, details the recruiting head coach Hugh Freeze has done to get the Rebels’ talent to a level where they can beat some of the SEC’s top teams.

It’s the third straight year Ole Miss has started 3-0, and the No. 3 ranking matches the highest spot the Rebels had last season. Ole Miss leads the nation in scoring at 64 points per game and has a plus-6 turnover margin.

Last season’s victory over the Tide marked a 5-0 start for the Rebels, who went 4-4 the rest of the way to finish 9-4.
Next up for Ole Miss is a home date with Vanderbilt on Saturday. The game will be aired on ESPNU with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
