John L. Rodgers

John L. Rodgers, 74, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at his home in Batesville.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at Locke Station Baptist Church with burial to follow in Marks Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Marin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.

Rodgers was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Lambert to Lonnie W. and Clytee Griffin Rodgers. He was a retired supervisor for Mississippi Department of Transportation after 35 years of service and was a farmer. He could be found working in his shop and was a member of Locke Station Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean Wimberly Rodgers of Batesville; one son, Shea Rodgers of Marks; one sister, Brenda Tallant of Grenada; one brother, Bobby Joe Rodgers of Batesville; and his four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
