OXFORD — Jeanette Laird Newell, 84, of Brookhaven, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services were held Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

She retired from Kellwood as a supervisor and Stahl Urban. She was a member of Golden Oldies Senior Club at Friendship Baptist Church, Loyd Hall Volunteer Club and B & I Birthday Club. She was also a member of Willing Hearts Sunday school class of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Newell.

She is survived by her sons, Victor Newell of Oxford and Barry Newell of Brookhaven.
