OXFORD — Richard Keith Monk, 47, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley with Bro. Virgil Nelson officiating. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Triangle, Virginia, he was a self-employed contractor who enjoyed hard work and helping others. He loved his children, grandchildren and family; and his smile and laughter will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheri McMarty Monk.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelby Ray Monk; son, Richard Keith Monk Jr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two sisters, Deborah Monk Atkinson of Oxford and Lisa Monk Butler of Stafford, Virginia; four brothers, Ronald Allen Monk, Timothy Albert Monk and Mark Anthony Monk, all of Stafford, Virginia, and James Russell Monk of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and three grandchildren.
