Bobby “Sonny” Douglas Mitchell, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, in an auto accident in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Beverly U.M. Church in Oxford with the Rev. Anthony Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be today from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. with family hour from 5-7 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Oxford, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, he was a retired construction worker with Camco Construction; retired employee from the University of Mississippi and retired from the North Mississippi Regional Center Foster grandparent program.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Frances Mitchell of Oxford; daughter, Brenda Jones of Oxford; two sons, Felix Mitchell of Louisville, Kentucky and Tyrone Mitchell of Orlando, Florida; brother, Leland Mitchell of Oxford; sisters, Ceola McCloud of St. Louis, Missouri and Loretta Suggs of Memphis, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
