Richard Dalton Churchill

Richard Dalton Churchill, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at his home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hope officiating. Burial will follow in North Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Lafayette County, he was retired from Avent’s Dairy. Along with his father, he operated a small country store called “Churchill Grocery” and was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, never having anything bad to say and always reminded others to live one day at a time and to be happy.

Survivors include two sisters, Martha Churchill Starnes and Dorothy Ann Holland and two brothers, Wayne and Robert Churchill, all of Oxford.
