George Robert Mills, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at The Orchard with Bro. Ervin Wright officiating. Visitation will be today beginning at 1:30 p.m. until service time. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Lafayette County, he was a self-employed contractor. He was a veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Navy. He enjoyed traveling, watching football and was an avid reader. Known for his sense of humor, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Mary G. Mills of Oxford; daughters, Robin Mills, Heather Mills Houghton and Tricia Mills McCammon, all of Oxford; three brothers, Frank Mills of Arizona, Tom Mills of Oxford and Mike Mills of Abbeville; and several grandchildren.
