Girl Scouts Heart of the South has announced the Lafayette-Oxford-University community nominees for the 2015 Women of Distinction awards, and will honor them at its fifth annual awards luncheon at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 4.

The nominees are  Allyson Best, Carolyn Carter, Marcia Cole, Sherri DeLashmit, Peggie Gillom Granderson, Mary Leary, Libby Lytle, Betsy Smith, Sherry Wall and Janet Watkins. 

Gail Pittman will be the keynote speaker. Tickets are $30 and are available online at www.girlscoutshs.org/womenofdistinction until Oct. 31 or until sold out. All proceeds generated from the event will support and benefit local Girl Scouts. For information, call 662-350-6041.
