Resident unhappy with Ole Miss decision

Needless to say, I am very unhappy and upset at the action of the University of Mississippi for removing our state flag from the premises of the university.

The university belongs to the people of this state. I consider the 200 people that attended an Oct. 16 campus rally in support of removing the flag a very small percent of the state residents and for that matter, even the university.

If we are known far and wide for hospitality and a warm and welcoming culture, then we certainly cannot be a racist majority.

I might add that I am also unhappy with the city for its action.

When are we going to start doing things based on the majority instead of the minor group?

I served my time in the military fighting for this state and city and nation. I wonder how many of the 200 will be able to say that.
