WATER VALLEY — Mary Frances Pruett Russell, 75, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at her residence in Water Valley, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley with Bro. James C. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Yalobusha County. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Water Valley, she worked as a seamstress for several years at Big Yank in Water Valley and later worked as a nurse’s aide for Oxford-Lafayette County Hospital and Yalobusha General Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Liberty Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed working word search puzzles and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Eugene Pruett.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Glenn Russell of Water Valley; son, James Ray Russell of Water Valley; daughter, Linda Karen Russell of Water Valley; three sisters, Margie Calvi of Horn Lake, Pat Wilson of Banner and Melanie Pruett of Oxford; two grandsons, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
