Woman arrested on forgery charge

The Oxford Police Department arrested a Paris woman for allegedly cashing stolen checks.

Charged is Terry Reeder, 27, who reportedly cashed more than $5,000 worth of checks that were not hers. Reeder was arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on a $2,500 bond.

At 12:40 p.m., called to the ATO house on campus for a fire alarm but no cause was found.

At 12:42 p.m., a grass fire was reported on Anderson Road but nothing was found.

At 12:52 p.m., called to University Trails apartments for a false alarm.

At 7:08 p.m., called to 1412 Jackson Ave. for an alarm but no cause was found.
