OXFORD — Waymon Dee Montgomery, 77, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at his home near Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Frierson officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at Coleman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Lafayette County, he was a retired heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed watching car shows and western movies. He took pleasure in being outdoors and gardening. Having long been an animal lover, his dog, Sophie, was a special companion.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Montgomery of Oxford; daughters, Sherry Sellers of Batesville and Debra Bynum of Oxford; sons, Monty Montgomery, Darrell Montgomery, James Burk and Stacy Doris, all of Oxford; sister, Mary Helen Sollie of Tennessee; brothers, Noel Montgomery of Taylor, Bill Montgomery of Michigan and Terry Montgomery of Tupelo; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
