OXFORD — Paulette Quarrels Serra Tomaras, 73, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Calhoun City, she worked as a hostess for several restaurants and enjoyed cooking and gardening prior to her retirement. She was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church of Water Valley and a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita McGregor and Virginia McCord; and two brothers, James Quarrels and Gene Quarrels.

She is survived by the love of her life, John Tomaras of Water Valley; two sons, Joseph Robert “Bob” Serra of Water Valley and John Tomaras of Joliet, Illinois; daughter, Tina Tomaras of Shorewood, Illinois; two sisters, Mary Helen Chandler of Water Valley and Faye Tidwell of Lafayette County; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
