Katie Mae Wallace Overstreet

OXFORD – Katie Mae Wallace Overstreet, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oxford University United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Rester, the Rev. Warren Black and the Rev.Will Overstreet. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 9 a.m. until service time. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Lafayette County, she grew up in the Anchor Community and graduated from Taylor High School. She worked at several different jobs during her lifetime. The one she loved the most was working alongside her beloved husband, Edgar Harold operating Golden Years’ Retirement Home. She loved people especially the elderly and was dedicated to providing loving and compassionate care to the Golden Years’ residents. She loved the Lord, her family and friends greatly and was loved by many. She had many titles but the favorite was “Nonnie” which her grandchildren gave to her. She enjoyed beautiful flowers, hummingbirds, butterflies and all of God’s creation. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Ole Miss Rebels.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter.

She is survived by her sons, Michael H. Overstreet and William Larry Overstreet, both of Oxford; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
