SCOTTADALE, Arizona — Ira “C-Bo” Shorter Jr., 82, formerly of Oxford, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2015, at his residence in Scottsdale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Oxford with burial on Monday in West Tennessee Veterans Affairs Cemetery in Memphis. Visitation will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Homes, which is in charge of arrangements.

He was a retired cement finisher and U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean Shorter of Scottsdale; daughters, Scarlett Shorter Knox of Los Angeles, California, Sharon Matlock of Allen, Texas, Donna Winkler of Ossing, New York and Karen Shorter of Kallispell, Montana; sons, Dale Shorter of Scottsdale, James Shorter of New York, New York and Marino Shorter of Los Angeles; brother, Miller “Prince” Burt of Oxford; sisters, Irma Jenkins and Barbara Turner, both of Flint, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
