OXFORD — Christine H. Payne, 89, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Tutwiler with burial in the Linn Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church in Tutwiler. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is in charge of arrangements.

A retired food service worker, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Tutwiler, the Clarksdale Garden Club, the 4-H shooting team and loved skeet shooting.

She was preceded in death by husbands Crawley Hamilton and Lucius T. Payne and a son, Wallace Hamilton.

She is survived by daughter Joyce H. Everett of Oxford, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
