WATER VALLEY — Barney Preston Huggins, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at North Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Richardson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Pace, he was a retired accountant with the State Board of Health. He was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church and a graduate of Delta State University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette C. Huggins of Oxford; two sons, David P. Huggins of Oxford and William Barry Huggins of Arlington, Texas; sister, Ruby Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico and four grandchildren.
