After retiring from state work, she worked part-time for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Oxford. Like her beautiful spirit, she loved the beauty of nature and found joy in feeding birds and growing flowers. She was wonderful and much loved. She lived her life always giving to others and by finding the good in every person.  She loved volunteering and voting Democrat. She was a huge supporter of the local farmers markets and a loyal Ole Miss Rebel fan.
