OXFORD — Essie B. Baker, 59, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Grove Baptist Church in Coffeeville with the Rev. Gregory Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sanders Chapel cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-6 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity-Martin Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Lee Baker of Oxford; sons, Johnathan Madkins of Killeen, Texas and LeDarius Davis of Oxford; daughters, Alicia Davis of Oxford, Tamara Johnson and Romara Johnson, both of Water Valley; sisters, Dorothy Ray and Pamela Davis, both of Charleston, Essie Lee Brown of Memphis, Tennessee, and Florda Ree Childs of St. Louis, Missouri; brothers, Harrison Davis Jr. of Middletown, Ohio, Jimmy Brown of Charleston, Willie Davis of Monroe, Louisiana and Eddie Davis of Killeen, Texas; stepsisters, Debbie Collins, Cathy Pegues and Gail Collins; stepbrothers, Jeffery Collins and Ricky Collins; four grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
