Due to the Christmas holidays, all city of Oxford, Lafayette County, state and some local federal government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Thursday’s garbage pickup by the Oxford Solid Waste Department will be collected Wednesday. Friday’s collection will be collected Thursday. Rubbish collection will run early for all customers. Have rubbish out by 6 a.m. Rubbish is yard waster, leaves, bulky items, appliances and furniture. The office will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Lafayette County Solid Waste will pick up Friday’s garbage on Wednesday. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday routes will run as scheduled. The office will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The U.S. Post Office will be closed Friday.

Buses with the Oxford-University Transit System will not run on Friday. There will be no charge for parking around the Square Thursday and Friday.

The Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library will be closed Thursday through Sunday and will reopen Monday at 10 a.m.

The Oxford EAGLE offices will close at 3 p.m. Thursday and remain closed until Monday when they will reopen at 8 a.m. A paper will be published on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
