OXFORD — Edith “Lorene” Tidwell Smith, 79, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at her home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Shook officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Oxford, she retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital where she had worked in maintenance. A member of Anchor Baptist Church, she expressed a strong spirit and dearly loved her family. She found great joy in working with flowers and her contagious laughter will be missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Annie Johnson of Indianola and Wanda Coleman of Oxford; two sons, Clinton Smith of Oxford and Billy Smith of Corinth; sister, Dovie Porter of Oxford; brother, Clinton Tidwell of Oxford; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
