Clarence O’Kelly Hickman

OXFORD — Clarence O’Kelly Hickman, 75, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. There are no plans for a service at this time. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Aberdeen, he had lived in Oxford for the last 13 years after moving from Greenville. He was a retired bank officer with First National Bank and Sunburst Bank. A Vietnam war veteran of the United States Army, he was a 1976 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Banking where he served as president of his class. He was active in various organizations that included the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer of the Mississippi Action for Education, a member and officer of the Knights of Columbus, a board member of the Boys’ Club in Greenville, and in 1980, received the Lyle Wilson Memorial Award for Service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greenville.

He is survived by his wife Mary Anne Hickman of Oxford; son Christopher James Hickman of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sisters, Gloria Jean Hicks of Richmond, Virginia, Audrey Harolyn Hatley of Tupelo and Sandra Louise Weeks of Knoxville, Tennessee.
