Jeanette Tuminello Reardon died Jan. 2, 2016. A vigil service will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Clarksdale today at 7 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 5 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Clarksdale, with interment to immediately follow at Oakridge Cemetery.  Visitation prior to the Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m.

She was born to Joe and Minnie Tuminello in Clarksdale, on Jan. 31, 1922. While working in Memphis she met and married Tom Reardon from St. Paul, Minnesota. The Reardons lived in Greenwood and Memphis before settling in Clarksdale. Reardon is perhaps best remembered as “Miss Jeanette” while serving as the receptionist and bookkeeper at JoAnn’s School of Dance.  She kept an open door at her home at the intersection of Maple and Lynn Street to welcome the friends of her children. She was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth’s and a longtime, faithful participant in its Eucharistic Perpetual Adoration program.

After becoming ill in 2013, she moved into assisted/nursing facilities in Oxford to be closer to her sons.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Thomas J. “Sparky” Reardon of Oxford and Rory Campbell Reardon of Olive Branch; one granddaughter, Regan Reardon of Jackson; two step granddaughters, Olivia C. Brame of Memphis and Rachel Curbo of Olive Branch, and her daughters, Abigail and Anna Wilson. In addition, she leaves numerous nieces and nephews who were like her own children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; a son, John Stephen “Speedy” Reardon, and a daughter, Victoria Ann Reardon.  She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Darlene Cascio of Greenwood, and Marjorie Serio and JoAnn Soldevila of Clarksdale.

Her sons wish to express grateful appreciation to the staff at Oxford Health and Rehab, her care workers from Camellia Hospice and the lay ministers of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (Oxford) who faithfully brought her the Eucharist each week.
