OXFORD — Gertrude Daniels, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette County with the Rev. Preston Gleeton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, which is in charge of arrangements.

She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed raising chickens and helping others. She never had children, but dearly loved her nieces and nephews and helped raise them as if they were her own.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
