OXFORD — James Michael “Mike” Tate, 56, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A private memorial serevice will be held at a later date. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Greenville, he had an active and fulfilling career as a masonry brick layer and cattle farmer. His favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg, Tennessee, especially Cades Cove National Park. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding in the “Dodge” with his beloved dogs, Mia, Belle and Lucky.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Tate of Cordova, Tennessee; parents, James A. Tate and Roma Dell Taylor, both of Water Valley; brother, Glenn “Buck” Tate of Southaven; and sisters, Tammy Johnson of Water Valley and Michelle Mahafey of Douglasville, Georgia.
