OSD pre-K registration opens Jan. 18
On Monday at 8 a.m. the Oxford School District’s pre-kindergarten program registration for the 2016-2017 school year opens online at www.oxfordsd.org/preK.
To qualify for the district’s pre-K program, children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016, and live within the Oxford School District.
School officials encourage parents to register their child online as soon as possible on Monday and turn in required registration documents on time because registration for the program will close on Friday, Jan. 22 at 4:30 p.m.
“It is important for parents to register their child online as soon as registration opens at 8 a.m. on Jan. 18,” said SuzAnne Liddell, OSD director of federal programs and student registration. “Students who demonstrate a need for a preschool program are placed in our pre-K program first. Remaining slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.”
In two easy steps, parents or legal guardians can complete their child’s pre-K registration process during pre-K registration week. Parents must first complete their child’s pre-K registration online at www.oxfordsd.org/preK.

The Oxford School District’s Pre-K Program at Bramlett Elementary School is a full-day program, where students participate in a variety of activities designed to stimulate social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth through planned learning experiences.
Each school day, which is from 7:40 a.m. to 2:35 p.m., pre-K students experience both quiet or active learning opportunities.
Pre-K program activities are designed to reach students at their own developmental level and provide the necessary building blocks for future learning experiences. Such opportunities are provided for each child’s individual success and to facilitate every child’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn.
Many of these learning experiences may take place in a whole group or small group setting in pre-K classrooms. teachers say.
