OXFORD — Johnny Ray Sides, 52, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 3933 Pleasant Hill Road, Ashland, with Bro. Herbert Luther officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Memphis, he enjoyed painting and drawing, racing and antique cars. His favorite cartoon character was the “Roadrunner.”

He was preceded in death by his father John Alvis and sister Glenda Sue Houck.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Sides of Ashland; sisters Joyce Ann Sides of Olive Branch and Debra St. Charles of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers Michael Hodges of Little Rock, Arkansas and David Hankle of New Jersey.
