The Oxford School District wants to know what parents think about their child’s school and overall education and what the district can do to make it better.

An online parent survey went live Monday and parents are encouraged to share their feedback through Feb. 7

Each school has its own survey so parents with children in more than one school are asked to take the survey for each school their children attend, according to SuzAnne Liddell, federal programs and school registration director.

Liddell said the survey would assess the needs of parents and provide feedback to the district of the satisfaction level of parents for school programs and activities.

“There is a component for parents of students in our Title 1 schools,” she said. “We are seeking feedback as to what parents would like to see, what would help them help their children best.”

The survey system will analyze the data from the survey. Results will be reviewed by all schools and administration and also will be made public.

“The results will be presented to the Oxford School Board once they’re all compiled and be published with the meeting agenda,” Liddell said. “It will probably be in the early spring sometime.”

Allison Koestler with the OSD PTA said residents are fortunate to have a school district that is interested in hearing from parents and gaining their ideas and suggestions.

“Teachers, parents and administrators  are all partners in our children’s education,” she said. “We have to work together. Taking a quick survey that will serve as a tool to better our schools is something every parent should take time to do.”
