OXFORD — Elizabeth Harvey Leslie, 90, of Oxford, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. A graveside service will be held on Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Oxford Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold A. Bush and the Rev. Brad Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held on Feb. 17 from noon until 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Oxford. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She spent her childhood in Tylertown and attended the University of North Carolina, Duke University and the University of Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She was married to the late John Oliver Leslie, former mayor of Oxford and pharmacist at Leslie Drugs. A lifelong Oxonian, she exuded a passion for people; a love for learning and reading; and a sincere dedication to her family. She served well as the first lady of Oxford for much of her life and had the privilege of seeing Oxford transform into the town in which it is today. Over the years, she was involved in the Oxford Garden Club, her Sunday school class at First Baptist Church, and various book clubs.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Harvey Leslie of Grenada; daughters Ann Sutherland of Oxford and Leigh Harrison of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Anna Ruth Brumfield of Tylertown and13 grandchildren.
