HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — Emma Jeannette Tatum Johnson, 78, formerly of Water Valley, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at her home in Huntsville, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery in Yalobusha County. Visitation was Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Yalobusha County, she was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Huntsville. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling, cooking and taking care of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, G. L. Tatum.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Johnson of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Sharon Clark of Huntsville, Alabama; son, Dewayne Johnson of Starkville; sisters, Vera Ann McReynolds of Gulfport and Kitsy Stracener of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Luther “Luke” Tatum of Water Valley; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
