TAYLOR – Callie Burt Norphlet, 95, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at her residence in Taylor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Hope M.B. Church with Bishop Ricky Burt officiating. Burial will be in Yocona Cemtery in Taylor. Viewing will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with family hour from 5-6 p.m. in the Vera Mae Hodges Chapel of Remembrance at Hodges Funeral Homes, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, she was a retired cook and member of Heroines of Jericho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Norphlet.

She is survived by a daughter, Jerry Ann Norphlet-Brantley of Racine, Wisconsin; sister Ladell Fisher of Taylor; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
