Imogene Dye Peacock

OXFORD — Imogene “Gene” Dye Peacock, 73, died Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Bruce, she was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Panola County, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and Easter Star. She worked various jobs including the Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Maroney.

She is survived by her daughter, Katrina Joiner of Water Valley; son Vernon Smith of Water Valley; sister Nell Montgomery of Tennessee; brothers Jerry Dye of Tennessee and Henry Dye of Hernando; and grandson Jeremy Smith of Dubai.
