The Oxford Police Department arrested an Oxford man Sunday for the alleged sexually battery of a woman.

According to the report, the alleged victim told investigators she attended a party at a friend’s house on Saturday and went to bed at some point during the night. She claims Deontae Harris, 24, entered the room while she was asleep and had sex with her, without her consent.

Harris was picked up on a warrant a few hours later and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $5,000 bond.
