OXFORD — Nettie Susie “Sue” Fuller Rogers, 83, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Oxford Health and Rehab. She was born Jan. 10, 1933, in Oxford to the late Jefferson Davis and Nora B. Mitchell Fuller. After graduating Ole Miss, she moved to Owensboro, Kentucky, where she met and married Leonard Gene Rogers Sr. She and Leonard moved back to Oxford where they started their family. Leonard’s work as a rural electrification specialist took their family to Little Rock where Sue completed her masters degree in library science, worked as the Media Specialist for the Pulaski County Special School District and served as president of the Arkansas Library Association. In 1993, they moved back to Oxford and she worked as the librarian for the Lafayette County Schools until her retirement in 2001. After retirement, she became a published author of children’s books. In 2006, they moved to Water Valley and she spent much of her time volunteering at the Library at Davidson Elementary School. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she could spend with them. In spring 2011 she was introduced to her “angel dog,” Chubby, whom she loved like a child, and they were inseparable.
