Disappointed in our senators over Supreme Court appointment

Published 12:00 pm Monday, April 4, 2016

I am both sad and ashamed of our two senators in Washington. They have pre-announced their refusal to consider anyone for appointment to the Supreme Court before he was even named. They are boycotting the work we pay them to do. We do not pay them fine salaries to cow-tow like flunkies to the likes of Mitch McConnell and Charles Grassley. They are willingly shutting down the full Supreme Court for over a year.

The weight of the historical evidence is against such unconstitutional and unpatriotic delays in the appointment process. Sens. Cochran and Wicker know this. Fourteen U. S. presidents, including our beloved Ronald Reagan, have nominated 21 Supreme Court Justices during election years. President Reagan is turning over in his grave because the obstructionism of Sens. Wicker and Cochran will only unleash greater and greater contempt for all the institutions of government. Truly sad, shameful and unpatriotic.
