Richard Allen Wilkerson

COFFEEVILLE — Richard Allen Wilkerson, 82, of Coffeeville, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Elder James Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Coffeeville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Bellamy, Alabama, he was a member of Yalobusha Primitive Baptist Church in Coffeeville and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was a great cook and loved cooking for others. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Walter Wilkerson and William “Bill” Wilkerson.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Georgia Wortham of Coffeeville; daughters Lisa Hassard of Roswell, Georgia and Karyn Luster of Auburn, Alabama; sons Roy Wilkerson of Demopolis, Alabama and Richard Wilkerson Jr. of West Blocton, Alabama; brother Gene Wilkerson of Demopolis, Alabama; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
