627-acre prescribed burn starts this morning

The U.S. Forest Service will be conducting a hazard fuels reduction burn on 627 acres of the Holly Springs National Forest.

The area is located at the Lafayette/Pontotoc county line on County Road 2066 (also known as Forest Road 827) and County Road 251, one mile north of the Lafayette Springs community.

Ignition will begin around 11 a.m. today.
