OXFORD — Abbie Lee Orange, 72, died Thursday, April 14, 2016, at her residence in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Second M.B. Church with Elder Barney Martin Sr. as eulogist. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and visitation from 5-7 p.m. in the Vera Mae Hodges Chapel of Remembrance at Hodges Funeral Home.
A native of Lafayette County, she was a retired custodian for the Oxford School District. She was a member of Second M.B. Church, where she was a member of the Usher Ministry. She loved to walk, spend time with her family and attend church.
She is survived by her mother Callie Mae Martin of Sardis; daughter Jessie Malone of Oxford; son Sidney Jennings of Washington, D.C.; sisters Willie Mae Jones and Sealeaner Harmon, both of Oxford, and Rose Martin-Stinson of Racine, Wisconsin; brothers Barney Martin Sr., Thomas Martin, Commodore Martin and Willie Lee Martin Jr., all of Oxford, and William B. Martin of Clarksdale; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
