WATER VALLEY – Callie James Smith, 84, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at his home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley.

Born in Calhoun County, he was retired from Motts Industries where he worked in refrigeration maintenance and was the owner of Smith Tires in Water Valley. He was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working hard, especially in his yard and garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ilene Collins; and brothers Clarence Smith, Clinton Smith and Clifton Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Dickey Smith of Water Valley; daughter Rita Faye Lewis of Water Valley; son Rex Smith of Water Valley; sister Hazel Kinkennon of Pontotoc; and three grandchildren.
